New Yorkers

In a crowded and awfully undersized corner market, I yielded to a fellow shopper who was headed to the checkout stand before me. He immediately commented on the gesture, "That wasn't very 'New York' of you. New Yorkers are supposed to cut people off given any opportunity. Did you just move here or something?" Wow, he had me all figured out before I even said a word! I beg to differ. I have had nothing but really positive experiences with New Yorkers so far.
